Melissa "Empress Myztique" Scarlett is a Cuban-descended, Jamaican -born-and-raised independent artist, beat maker, songwriter and music creator with a life long passion for sound and culture. Spending most of her life between countries and a variety of cultures, she never saw a divide; yet, always found common ground between the differences. Empress Myztique learned early that music has a unique ability to bring people together and rather than seeing differences as a barrier, she found the inspiration in it and saw that the "different" was the beauty in us all; "being different is the one similarity we all shared." With that outlook combined with a passion for music, so began her journey to provide a different kind of sound. "I've been to so many studios and worked with so many producers; and although I can flow to any beat, not any beats flows through me." 

 After years of song writing and recording, showcases and live performances, as well as networking and meeting some amazing independent artists and talented producers, "The Empress" thought that something was most definitely missing from today's music and the sound of the -not so oridanry- artists like herself. They needed beats. She developed an ear for beats that moves beyond the ordinary.
